40K’s CEO Clary Castrission has been selected to be one of the bearers of the Queen’s Baton for the Commonwealth Games. The Queen’s Baton is travelling through all Commonwealth countries prior to the Delhi Commonwealth Games in October 2010 and will arrive at the steps of the Sydney Opera House today at 1.15pm.
The ceremony will be hosted by Matt Shirvington, the former Olympic and Commonwealth Games sprinter and the other baton bearers are: · Catherine Cox and Susan Pratley from the NSW Swifts. · Sophie Delizio – the inspiration behind the “Day of Difference Foundation” and Shaan Patel. · Kieren Perkins, former Olympic and Commonwealth Games champion swimmer. · Karlee McCulloch and Ashlee Ankudinoff, current world cycling champions.
The Commonwealth Games will take place in Delhi, India from the 3rd to the 14th October and will be the first time that the Games have taken place in India. Clary Castrission commented: “I was incredibly honoured to be asked to take part in welcoming the Queen’s Baton to Australia during its journey around the Commonwealth on its way to Delhi in time for the opening ceremony.
